GRAPES TO GLASS TOUR
Embark on a guided tour of Greenhill's winemaking practices & how they employ methods designed to coax signature flavors from soil (terroir) & grape. You will learn about the Middleburg AVA and the qualities that make Greenhill's terroir special. Highlights will include the estate's Charolais cattle, Greenhill’s bees, a tour of the historic Manor House concluding with a tasting of winemaker Sébastien Marquet's current releases.
Boxwood Estate Winery produces red wine in three styles in the Bordeaux tradition from five varieties of grapes certified by the French government and grown on the estate: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Boxwood, a National Historic Landmark, is one of the earliest horse farms in Middleburg, Virginia, a region of American colonial and Civil War history. Originally settled in the eighteenth century, the farm became the home of General Billy Mitchell, a pioneer of military aviation, and now the site of Rita and John Kent Cooke’s Boxwood Winery.
